The Happy Apple Pie Shop Oak Park, Illinois Owners

Michelle Mascaro, Corynne Romine, their three children and various pets moved to Oak Park in 2008. They had talked over the years, about opening a business, never thinking it would become a reality.

Corynne teaches special education in a Chicago elementary school. Prior to teaching , she worked in social services. She admits to not being a cook!

Michelle has had an eclectic career – always in the helping professions. When the idea arose to start a business to employ people with and without developmental and intellectual disabilities, it was Michelle who was free to run with it. Savory cooking is her passion. Fancy dessert not so much! Looking around, there were no local shops dedicated to pie; you have to drive to the city for that. So pie, it is!

With the support and encouragement of many parents, friends and neighbors, and the Oak Park And River Forest High School TEAM program staff, we look forward to making this a success for years to come!
